One Year On
ByYep, a whole year today since my FAI surgery! How do I feel?…GREAT! I am so pleased I had it done. I am nearly 27 weeks into my pregnancy and my hip hasn’t bothered me at all. I have been taking pregnancy yoga classes and do find some of the positions uncomfortable so avoid those and do the wussy option instead.
Hoping things continue to be pain-free, am a little nervous about giving birth and the position my hip will have to be in for goodness knows how long as that ‘open’ position is still quite uncomfortable. It seems now I have great internal rotation, but external is worse, I’m guessing it’s scar tissue.
The pelvic/SIJ pain comes and goes. It is most definitely activity related and I wonder how much of it is due to the biomechanics of my pelvis as well. I’ve now dropped down to working four days a week until I finish up in five weeks to give myself a rest day in the middle of the week. Struggling with big dogs and bending now as I’ve suddenly popped out the front!

Thank you so much for you blog! This has been a wealth of knowledge. I need to get out my pictures to compare. I recently had my FAI scope for labral tear and to correct my femur head (even though I have retroverted hips). I’m still in pain. You are my first successful surgery I have read about. This has made my 18th day in recovery better.
Thanks again,
Rose

Thanks I have found this, good news, I wonder how you are now after the baby, hope it all went well. I have trouble with scar tissue. I am now 4 years post surgery.
I am thinking I may have open surgery but only to mend the acetabular labrum tear as the bone (apparently) is ok it was reshaped in op in 08. Do or did you have (pre baby!) a bad back? I have spondylosis in lower spine but when my tear is aggravated (bending/walking/sitting/sleeping on side on hard bed.

Hi. Have you had your baby yet? How did the birth go?
I have suffered with terrible hip pain for nearly four years. I had two arthroscopies too the second producing a much better result but I still have pain and am still searching for answers.
I hope all is well
