Crazy Dental X-Rays
ByMy jaw has been very clunky since I had braces as a teenager. It started off mild and only when I yawned and didn’t bother me, but now it happens all the time. I have to pop it out sideways to get my mouth open a decent amount to eat properly and it even clunks when I talk now. It crunches occasionally and aches, especially when I am exercising and ‘mouth breathing’. Fortunately it has never locked on me because I would totally freak out!
I am off to see an oral surgeon in a couple of weeks in the hope he can make me a splint to wear at night time to help move things back into the correct position.
I had an orthopantomography (OPG) x-ray taken with a panoramic view (image 1) and side views with mouth open and closed (image 2). The x-rays are pretty cool, but I have no idea what I’m looking at so can’t comment on them

there are jaw exercises that can help. My son had to do them for a while…. and I found they helped mine too – not that it is bad as yours sounds!!!
